Nebbiolo is the main grape variety in Piedmont, in fact Barbaresco is produced exclusively with Nebbiolo grapes. To be regulated, this wine can only be produced with grapes from the municipalities of Barbaresco, Treiso, Neive and the relative fractions. Thanks to the particular exposure of the vineyards and a soil rich in mineral salts, it is possible to obtain from the Nebbiolo grapes a rich heritage of tannins that ensure a great longevity to the Barbaresco (we can make it rest in the cellar for 15-20 years).
